Sponsorship roundup

Telus has signed a five-year agreement with charitable organization Free The Children to become the national co-title sponsor of We Day, a series of events intended to encourage young people to create change in their communities. Beginning Sept. 12, visitors to the website <http://www.telusforweday.com> can submit descriptions of what they are doing. Telus will donate one dollare to Free The Children for each submission. On Sept. 28, a second phase will begin during which young people will be invited to upload a video to the website describing what they would do for their communities in association with a local charity. Winning entries will receive $20,000 to conduct this activity. In addition to this sponsorship, Telus will conduct an initiative on Sept. 7 called "Phones for Good," during which $25 from the sale of each Samsung Galaxy SIII or Samsung Ace Q will be donated by Telus to Free the Children.
