Gap begins Casting Call Contest

April 3, 2012

Clothing retailer Gap has resumed an annual promotion called the "Casting Call Contest" to find children under the age of 12. Parents can enter the contest by uploading photographs of their children at <http://www.gap.com/castingcall> or via the brand's Facebook page, along with a description of how their child "brightens up the world." Ten finalists will be selected in each category of children under five and under 12. The 20 finalists, 10 boys and 10 girls, will be flown to either New York or California for a photo shoot. Public voting will then select one boy and one girl in each category. The four winners will be featured in a Gap marketing campaign. Each will receive a $1,000 Gap gift card and a $10,000 grant in their name from Gap to non-profit organization Communities In Schools. "Casting Call is one of our favorite programs," said Art Peck, president of Gap North America. "It's a unique and meaningful way for us to engage with our customers, and we enjoy seeing the millions of children who embody the optimistic spirit of Gap. For this year's Casting Call, we want to go beyond the photo to learn more about who these children are and how they're connecting with the world around them."
