SEARS ADDS BENEFITS TO CREDIT CARD
By Adnews Staff
Sears Canada of Toronto relaunched its credit card this week, joining forces with Shell Canada in order to do so. With the redesigned card, users can now buy gasoline and other products at any of the over 2,500 Shell stations across Canada. In addition, cardholders who are members of the Sears Club can collect Sears club points and Air Miles travel miles whenever they use the card at Shell or at Sears. This is the first time Sears has partnered with another company. The company is hoping to add more partners to the program within the next year. Direct mail, done by Otsby & Pente of Toronto, supports the relaunch of the card. In-store signs and Sears catalogue ads created in-house are also being used. Communicaide of Toronto is creating retail flyers. Shell's point-of-purchase materials were created by Ogilvy & Mather West of Calgary. National radio advertising for the card will be launched in October. It will be created by Prism Communications of Toronto.
