Rogers Communications readies Xbox Live service

Rogers Communications of Toronto will debut an new online version of Rogers On Demand this month that will be offered through Microsoft's Xbox Live service. According to the company, this will be the first time the service is available through a video game console. The service will offer Rogers customers approximately 1,000 hours of video content at launch. "Over half of all Canadian households own Internet-capable gaming consoles and they're using them for more than just gaming," said David Purdy, vice-president of video products at Rogers Communications. "We're delighted to join forces with Microsoft and give our customers access to world-class TV entertainment anytime they want it on the popular Xbox console."
