Ikea Canada conducts Moving Day promotion in Montreal

Ikea Canada will conduct a promotion from June 25 to 30 aimed at Montreal residents who will be moving on July 1. The retailer has constructed 14-foot-high pyramids of moving boxes at three Montreal locations. Consumers will be invited to help themselves to the boxes during the promotion, then bring them back after their move to be recycled. The boxes are printed with moving advice, a check list, a meatball dinner offer for people who have not yet set up their kitchen, and an offer to buy Ikea furniture. In addition, from June 20 to 30, several billboards around the city will contain folded boxes for people to take home. "We are always looking for ways to create a better every day life for our customers," said Hilary Lloyd, deputy marketing manager at Ikea Canada. "We were gathering insights into Moving Day and found that more than anything it is the basic moving supplies, especially boxes, that are in highest demand and lowest supply at this time."
