Kent joins Canadian Olympic Committee

The Canadian Olympic Committee has appointed Derek Kent to the newly-created position of executive director of corporate and brand communications. He will begin work on July 18. He will manage the committee's internal and external communication activities. Kent was previously US media relations director of Nike. Prior to that, he was a senior manager of corporate communications at Nike, as well as head of corporate communications at Nike Canada. He has also been a vice-president at Veritas Communications, a political advisor to the Minister of Justice and Attorney General and press secretary to the Minister of Health in Ottawa.
