Addendum: Rouge Media Group

Rouge Media Group has released a statement regarding the injunction issued by the Quebec Superior Court concerning venues that had signed advertising exclusivity agreements with Zoom Media. "While the Quebec Superior Court has ruled in the court injunction that Rouge Media Group had not conducted any illegal activities, clearing us of any charges made by Zoom, we are disappointed both in the court's silence about scope of the exclusivity claims made by Zoom Media, and by the wildly inaccurate and misleading response made by Zoom to the ruling," said Martin Poitras, president of Rouge. "Since the case was filed, many of the 49 bars have since closed or are not even under contract with Zoom anymore, and while we are confident the decision will be reversed in appeal, the actual number of venues we may have to withdraw from will not be significant considering the whole of our operations. We are sorry for those partner establishments that may be affected by this ruling. We will be appealing the court's ruling to get clarity and final confirmation of Zoom’s claim to total exclusivity."
