Metro begins international Lady Gaga contest

Commuter newspaper publisher Metro has begun an international contest to find an editorial assistant for its May 17 issue, which will be guest-edited by pop musician Lady Gaga. Consumers can enter the contest by visiting a website at <http://www.ladygagametro.com> and submitting an answer to the question, "Why were you born this way?" The winner, who will be selected by Lady Gaga, will win a three-day trip to London, UK to work on the special issue. The international campaign includes television, radio, print and online advertising. In Canada, advertising will run in French and English. "We are delighted that Lady Gaga herself set up the competition rules and will be the one to choose the lucky winner," said Christian Quarles, vice-president and global marketing director at Metro. "The competition is placed on a global microsite to be accessible for Metro readers and Lady Gaga fans all over the world. On the microsite they can submit, view and share comments about entries to friends via social media."
