St. Joseph Media buys Torontoist.com

St. Joseph Media has acquired Torontoist.com, an online news service aimed at residents of the city of Toronto. No financial details are available. "St. Joseph Media is the perfect home for Torontoist," said Torontoist.com publisher Ken Hunt. "It is a company where we will be able to retain the independent streak that makes Torontoist great, while having the support we need to grow and flourish. I couldn't be more excited for what the future holds." Torontoist.com was founded in 2004 as part of the 13-city Gothamist group of sites. St. Joseph Media is the publisher of Toronto Life magazine and Torontolife.com, among other properties.
