CRTC approves Saskatchewan Communications Network sale

Bluepoint Investment Corporation of Oakville, ON has received approval from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission to acquire the assets and operations of the Saskatchewan Communications Network from the Government of Saskatchewan. The conditions of license stipulate that the network continue to be an educational broadcaster, while allowing Bluepoint to combine community and educational programming with commercial programming in primetime. In addition, Bluepoint must spend at least $1.75 million per year on Saskatchewan programming and $1 million in Saskatchewan on digital programming and content.
