Canadian Tire has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with the Greater Toronto Hockey League. As part of the deal, approximately 10,000 players on 530 teams will display the Canadian Tire logo on their uniforms during games. In addition, Canadian Tire stores will donate $20,000 per year to help league children who are in financial need. "For nearly 90 years, Canadian Tire has equipped millions of hockey players with their first skates, stick, helmet and pads," said Duncan Fulton, vice-president of corporate affairs at Canadian Tire. "We're happy to continue this tradition and to partner with the GTHL."
