Dairy Farmers of Canada resume cheese rolling festival

Dairy Farmers of Canada will resume its "Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival" promotion in Whistler, BC on Aug. 14. The event will consist of a series of races during which participants will chase a wheel of cheese down a hill. The winners will receive a wheel of cheese and a Whistler season ski pass. The event will also include other activities such as cheese bowling, cheese Twister, cheese sampling and cheese seminars. The event is being supported with a website at <http://www.canadiancheeserolling.ca>. "Last year, the attendance at the Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival was above our expectations and many people from across the country and abroad have asked us to bring it back," said Solange Heiss, assistant director of marketing and nutrition communications at Dairy Farmers of Canada. "It's a great activity for the entire family and a fantastic way to showcase the amazing 100% Canadian cheeses this country has to offer."
