Survey: Private label grocery brands

According to the results of a survey released by grocery chain Sobeys, 49% of Canadian shoppers purchase private label brands frequently, while 34% purchase them sometimes. Fifty-three percent of respondents claimed that private label products provide better value than brand name products. Forty-eight percent of frequent private label buyers claimed the products are comparable or better in quality than brand name products. Seventy-four percent said they had been buying private label products for more than five years. The survey was conducted by Harris/Decima.
