Rogers readies Chatr mobile brand
By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Rogers Communications will introduce a new mobile phone brand called Chatr later this summer that is aimed at consumers who want unlimited talk and text services. "We've been watching this niche but growing category closely and it's clear that some Canadians want to use their handsets for voice and text only but want a network they can trust," said John Boynton, chief marketing officer at Rogers Communications. "The launch of a third brand mirrors many other industries like the hospitality and retail sectors and is designed to offer Canadians more choice." The company's existing mobile phone brands include its primary Rogers service and the "value brand" Fido.
