DRUG REDUCES SIDE EFFECTS OF CANCER TREATMENT

Eli Lilly Canada of Toronto launched a drug across Canada last week that the company says reduces the side effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients. Called Ethyol, the drug is used prior to treatment to protect non-cancerous cells. Often treatments are reduced or stopped because of their toxic effects, but Ethyol will let oncologists give larger doses of chemotherapy. Ethyol is being promoted using medical seminars and clinical reference materials done by HealthCare Marketing Resources of Toronto.
