By Adnews Staff
The Globe and Mail has begun a promotion called the "Journalism Dream Contest." Two grand prize winners will travel to Vancouver to help the newspaper cover the 2010 Olympic Winter Games as a writer or photographer. Readers can enter the contest by submitting a story or photograph about a recent sporting event to <http://www.journalismdream.com>. Public voting will determine the top 50 stories and top 50 photographs. The winners will be selected by a judging panel. The contest will run until Nov. 22. "The Globe and Mail is delighted to give Canadians a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to cover first-hand the Olympic Games on home soil," said Sean Humphrey, the paper's marketing director. "The contest gives entrants a taste of what goes into covering the entire two weeks of an action-filled global event." The contest is being promoted with print, online, television and cinema advertising, as well as communication to journalism schools, universities and arts schools. The Globe and Mail is the official national newspaper of the games and the official national print outlet of Canada's Olympic Broadcast Media Consortium.
