WAL-MART LAUNCHES CLINIC DAYS

Wal-Mart Canada of Toronto will launch an in-store consumer education program on Aug. 1. called A.S.K. Clinical Forum Days. Wal-Mart will provide health information and professional counsel to customers, as well as basic testing such as blood pressure and heart rate checks. It will also provide literature on these conditions. The program will be done by Wal-Mart pharmacists and professionals from the Victorian Order of Nurses of Canada. The first phase of the program will focus on hypertension and asthma. Over the next year, there will be an additional six A.S.K. forum days focusing on diabetes, stress management, menopause and osteoporosis, safety and first aid, arthritis, and cancer prevention and support. In-store advertising beginning later this month will support the program. It will be created in-house.
