Toronto Just for Laughs Festival breaks new campaign
By Adnews Staff
The Toronto Just for Laughs Festival has begun a new advertising campaign. The initiative, developed by Zig of Toronto, includes television, radio, print and online advertising. The broadcast creative features excerpts from the stand-up routines of various comedians who will perform as the festival, inserted into everyday situations. The television commercials are airing on CTV and CP24, while radio is running on CHUM-FM and Corus radio stations. Print ads are running Toronto Metro and the Toronto Star. Posters are also being used in the Greater Toronto Area. Online banners are running on Toronto.com, TheStar.ca, Yahoo.ca and other sites. Media buying was handled by Zig. "Torontonians will never see comedy line-ups like those at the Toronto Just For Laughs Festival in one place, at one time, anywhere else," said Aaron Starkman, creative director at Zig. "We incorporated some of our favorite comedy clips from the featured performers to provide a glimpse of the entertainment and remind people how good it feels to enjoy a good laugh." The festival will take place from July 15 to 19.
