ROYAL BANK GOES AFTER SMALL BUSINESS

The Royal Bank of Canada is targeting small businesses with its loan program that was launched across Canada this week. Under the deal, small business owners can apply for business equipment loans of up to $200,000 by mailing in a simple two-page application form similar to a credit card application. The loans, which start at $10,000, can be used to buy new or used equipment such as computers, office equipment and heavy construction equipment. The loans are available to sole proprietors, partnerships, incorporated companies, joint ventures and not-for-profit organizations. National print advertising for the program began last week. It was created by Allard Communications of Montreal.
