Koodo Mobile begins new national campaign

Cell phone provider Koodo Mobile has begun a national campaign that will run through the year. The campaign, developed by Taxi 2, includes television, cinema, out-of-home, print, radio and online advertising. Quebec advertising was produced by Taxi Montreal, while national media planning was handled by Media Experts. The creative makes use of a number of invented words and phrases intended to illustrate the features of Koodo's service. These include, "Get a fee-ectomy," "Become a contractophobe" and "Say no to bigbillification." "We feel like we've built a vibrant and entertaining brand with Koodo, which allows us the freedom to create energetic campaigns," said creative director Lance Martin. "In turn, this gives us the chance to reach our target in a myriad of interesting ways. In this case, we created giant smiles, a hyperbole of the excitement that comes with not paying a lot for mobility, and a whole new language of savings."
