H&M WINS MUTUAL FUND ACCOUNT

Harrod & Mirlin of Toronto will launch a campaign later this year for C.I. Mutual Funds of Toronto. The agency was given the business early last month in a review with three other agencies because "we felt that the style of Harrod & Mirlin provided a closer match with our own," marketing vice-president Cheryl Row says in a release. The other agencies short listed were Ogilvy & Mather, Ammirati & Puris/Lintas and D'Arcy, Masius, Benton & Bowles, all of Toronto. C.I. had been with Gawenda & Co. of Toronto for a year, but felt it needed a bigger agency to handle the job, Row told Adnews yesterday. The mutual fund company spent $2.5 million on advertising last year, and Row says the budget will be increased this year.
