CANADIAN AIRLINES CEO CALLS IT QUITS
By Adnews Staff
Canadian Airlines International CEO Kevin Jenkins resigned from his post last week after five years on the job. He was replaced immediately by chief financial officer Kevin Benson. Before joining Canadian, Benson was CEO of Trizec Corp., one of the largest real estate developers in North America. Currently Jenkins is taking a few weeks off to consider other job offers. While Jenkins was at the helm of the airline he oversaw a large restructuring of the company, completed a deal with American Airlines, which gave the Texas company a 33% stake in Canadian in exchange for enough cash to keep Canadian going, and signed several marketing agreements with other airlines to allow Canadian to continue as a world airline.
