PepsiCo Canada readies Super Bowl commercials

PepsiCo Canada will release two new television commercials in support of Diet Pepsi during the CTV broadcast of the Super Bowl on Feb. 1. The ads, developed by BBDO Toronto, will be part of the brand's ongoing "Forever Young" campaign. A 30-second ad will run during the pre-game show, while a 60-second ad will air during half-time. Pepsi is also the sponsor of the half-time show. Both commercials depict people imagining what it would be like to add childhood activities such as sleepovers and recess breaks to their adult lives. "As a marketing leader, we need to continuously raise the bar, and our decision to air Canadian work from an award-winning campaign on one of the most-watched TV occasions of the year is a reflection of our confidence that our new ads will resonate with Diet Pepsi drinkers," said Dale Hooper, marketing vice-president at PepsiCo. "Our research shows that Canadian Super Bowl viewers love commercials that make them laugh, and these spots will do that."
