PepsiCo promotes Tropicana in new campaign

PepsiCo Canada began a new television advertising campaign yesterday for its Tropicana Tropics line of juices. The two 15-second commercials, developed by BBDO Toronto, compare the beverages to a brief tropical vacation. The ads end with the tagline, "A little taste of the tropics." They are airing on networks including Global, CTV, MITV, TQS, as well as specialty channels including Slice, Bravo, Food Network and HGTV. "The Tropicana Tropics brand has always delivered a delicious tropical taste and we were looking for a concept to help convey that drinking a glass is like taking a moment of tropical escape," said Dale Hooper, marketing vice-president at PepsiCo Canada. "The resulting ads capture the quick tropical experience that our juice blends offer consumers in a remarkably entertaining way." Media buying was handled by OMD, while public relations are being conducted by PraxisPR.
