Subway Restaurants has signed a sponsorship agreement Atlantic University Sport of Halifax, the body responsible for governing inter-university sport in Atlantic Canada. Subway will be the exclusive quick service restaurant sponsor of the organization until 2011. Subway will also be the title sponsor of the organization's 16 championship competitions. In addition, the chain's logo will appear online, in print materials and in the venues used during regular season events. Subway will also be the title sponsor of the "Player of the Game" and "Athletes of the Week" recognition programs. "This sponsorship is the first of its kind for our organization," said Phil Currie, executive director of Atlantic University Sport. "Subway is an integral partner and team player for the future development of university sport in the Atlantic region."

Fast food chain Pizza Pizza has signed-on as a sponsor of the Bills Toronto Series of NFL football games. The chain released a television commercial on the weekend that includes the series logo. The ad also promotes a contest for a pair of tickets to a series game on Dec. 7. Pizza Pizza will also receive video and ribbon board ad exposure at the stadium during the game. During the Bills Toronto Series, the Buffalo Bills will play a number of pre-season and regular season NFL games in Toronto each year until 2012.
