Vancouver Convention Centre hires DDB Canada

The Vancouver Convention Centre has retained DDB Canada of Vancouver as its agency of record. The firm will promote the centre's renovations, which will be completed in March 2009. DDB will develop a new visual identity for the venue, as well as a marketing campaign consisting of print, direct and online materials. DDB divisions Karacters Design Group, Tribal DDB and Rapp Collins will also work on the assignment. The convention centre hired DDB after a competitive review that took place over the summer. "As we move closer to opening our facility expansion in March 2009, DDB's experience in the meeting and convention industry, coupled with a creative and innovative team, will bring a new look, feel and energy to our creative as we explore new markets," said Claire Smith, vice-president of sales and marketing for the centre.
