Best Buy Canada opens first mobile phone store

Electronics retailer Best Buy Canada will open the first Best Buy Mobile store in Canada today in Vaughn, ON. This is the first of a chain of shopping mall-based stores the company plans to oopen nationally to sell mobile phones, usage plans, accessories and related items. The company also plans to upgrade the mobile sections of some of its existing big box stores to include a Best Buy Mobile location as a store-within-a-store. "The relationship between a consumer and their mobile device is strong," said Phil Johnston, wireless solutions director at Best Buy Canada. "One third of Canadians say it's critical to function in their daily lives. And yet, the relationship between that consumer and the service provider is increasingly poor. It's difficult for Canadians to get help with their devices, change service plans, upgrade handsets, and even understand their monthly phone bill. Best Buy Mobile will be there for the life of your phone and address all of the frustrations that come up during the course of your relationship with your phone."
