Sobeys introduces loyalty program

Mississauga-based grocery chain Sobeys has introduced a loyalty program called "Club Sobeys" at its stores in Ontario and western Canada. The program consists of points that members collect by buying merchandise, then redeem for savings on their grocery bills or food-related items from an online catalogue. The points can also be converted to Aeroplan Miles. The program also includes the introduction of a Club Sobeys MasterCard, which will generate points for the consumer when used to pay for purchases at other stores as well. "Club Sobeys and the Club Sobeys MasterCard extend additional value and a unique, superb choice of rewards to our customers not available through any other program," said Bill McEwan, president and CEO of Sobeys. "Our customers' patronage is earned by being the very best food retailer day after day. Club Sobeys and the Club Sobeys MasterCard further support and improve our ability to connect with our customers to do that." The company operates 194 Sobeys store in Ontario and western Canada.
