Nintendo Canada has begun an online promotion for its Wii video game system called "Get up and Play." The initiative, developed by Henderson Bas of Toronto, is centred on a website at <http://www.getupandplay.ca>. The aim of the campaign is to encourage parents to participate in physically active family play. The effort will include monthly emails, game challenges and party planning advice. The campaign also includes a contest component conducted in association with Whistler Blackcomb. "We've heard stories and seen images from parents who like the fact that their children are active and improving skills like hand-eye coordination or agility when playing with the Wii," said Susan Tucker, interactive and retail marketing manager for Nintendo Canada. "Nintendo Canada wanted to create a site that would encourage this healthy trend."
