FCB Canada's Vancouver and Montreal media departments have come into the fold of the agency's Toronto-based independent media service, Optimedia Canada. The media chiefs in Vancouver and Montreal now report to Sunni Boot who has been promoted from managing director of Optimedia Canada to executive director. All media operations ahve been consolidated under Boot and Optimedia to make them more efficient, FCB Canada president Dave Haan said yesterday. Boot oversaw the start-up of Optimedia in 1992. It now handles media budgets totalling more than $175 million. More than $100 million of that is for companies that are not FCB clients. Debbie King has moved up from managing director of Optimedia in Toronto to director of operations. On the west coast former Dome/FCB media director Steve Hutchinson is now managing director of Optimedia, Vancouver. In Montreal Carol Ann Gelinas is now managing director of Optimedia, Montreal. She was formerly media director of Auger Babeux FCB Publicité. That agency's name changed yesterday to Mondialis, when FCB's right to use the Auger Babeux name ended. Last fall FCB bought out Auger Babeux, which until then had been FCB's 49%-owned Quebec affiliate.
