Ford of Canada resumes Taking Style to the Edge contest

Ford of Canada has resumed a contest promotion called “Taking Style to the Edge” for a second year. The contest, which promotes the company’s Edge vehicle, is being conducted in conjunction with the Fashion Design Council of Canada and L'Oreal Fashion Week. During the initiative, Canadian fashion designers are invited to submit a sketch of an outfit inspired by the vehicle. After submissions close on June 25, a panel of judges will select three designs as finalists. The public will then vote for a winner, who will receive the Ford Fashion Award and $5,000 during L'Oreal Fashion Week in October. “We had an excellent response to ‘Taking Style to the Edge’ in 2006, which encouraged us to look for more inspiring and thought provoking creations from Canadian designers,” said Reg Modjeski, manager of partnerships and events at Ford of Canada. “We've also re-energized the contest by inviting designers from across Canada, not only those who participate in L'Oreal Fashion Week, to submit an outfit sketch inspired by the Ford Edge.”
