Canadian Wildlife Federation launches Checkerspot magazine

The Ottawa-based Canadian Wildlife Federation has launched a new magazine on the topic of climate change called Checkerspot. The biannual publication will contain articles on food, shelter, transportation and lifestyle choices that can reduce climate change. The magazine is named after a butterfly whose range is shifting due to global warming. “Climate change is real and Canadians want to move forward and take action in their everyday lives,” said Colin Maxwell, executive vice-president of the organization. “Checkerspot will put climate change solutions in their hands, in their own backyards, through simple lifestyle choices that will make a world of difference for the environment, for wildlife and for future generations.” A website for the magazine has been constructed at <http://www.checkerspotmagazine.ca>.
