LG Electronics readies Super Bowl commercial

LG Electronics Canada of Mississauga will debut a new television commercial during the Super Bowl broadcast on Feb. 4 as part of a promotional campaign called “Show Us Your Set.” The national initiative is an online contest during which Canadians will be invited to upload pictures of their TV sets to a website at <http://www.lge.ca/showusyourset> along with an explanation of why they need a replacement. Entries will be judged on need and creativity. The winner will receive a 60-inch plasma screen and a home theatre system. “This is the first time that LG Electronics Canada has debuted a TV commercial during the Super Bowl and it’s a perfect match,” said Andrew Barrett, vice-president of marketing at LG. “The Super Bowl exemplifies the fun and excitement of a great TV experience, and these are the type of moments that LG wants to bring to Canadian homes.” The contest will run from Feb. 5 to March 18. The campaign was created by Brand Buzz, a division of Young & Rubicam.
