The Toronto-based Sponsorship Marketing Council of Canada has issued a call for entries into the third annual Sponsorship Marketing Awards. The awards recognize companies that have used sponsorship marketing to produce business results. Awards will be distributed in the categories of sports, arts and entertainment, not-for-profit programs, special interest programs, sustained success and small budget programs. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 28. The winners will be announced on April 23. “The number of submissions jumped by 41% in 2006 over the previous year and we are hoping for sustained growth in 2007,” said Nicole Dubé, chair of the judging panel. “Fueling this acceptance is the opportunity for peer-to-peer learning, which in turn is advancing the industry’s base of knowledge and best practices.”
