Subaru Canada breaks first brand campaign

Subaru Canada began its first original brand campaign in this country this week. The national campaign began with the release of a 30-second television commercial called “Tornado” which promotes the company’s all-wheel drive system. The ad shows a Subaru Outback in a parking lot. The vehicle remains in place while a tornado pulls up a nearby lamppost, dumpster and fence. A voiceover describes how the vehicle’s all-wheel drive allows it to “stick to the road” in all weather conditions. The campaign was developed by DDB Canada of Toronto. “Our goal was to draw consumers in right from the start,” said Andrew Simon, creative director of the agency. “We really pushed the visual effects to bring this situation, and Subaru's ownership of all-wheel drive, to life.”
