Toronto Star publishes first online special section

The Toronto Star debuted a new section called “Console and Computer Games” on its website yesterday. The section, located at <http://www.thestar.com/games>, will carry video game news, reviews and lifestyle stories. The section also offers online games and contests. The Star believes this is the first newspaper special section to appear exclusively online. “We are excited about this new venture, which is the beginning of a whole new era for the Star's special sections,” said Steve Tustin, city editor of the Toronto Star. “In the past we've published special sections in the newspaper that offered some online components, such as expanded coverage and Q&As with experts, but this will be the Star's first, truly online-only special section.”
