CanWest appoints Leuschner president of community publishing group

CanWest MediaWorks Publications has appointed Rob Leuschner to the newly-created position of president of its Community Publishing Group. He will begin work on Oct. 10, based in Vancouver. Leuschner will be responsible for CanWest’s community newspaper properties nationally. He will also work to increase the number of these properties through start-ups and acquisitions. Leuschner was most recently vice-president of advertising for the Hamilton Spectator and Hamilton Community News. He has also worked as publisher for City Media Group’s community newspaper division.
