MacLaren McCann Vancouver merges with Pineapple Group

MacLaren McCann Vancouver has merged with Pineapple Group, also based in Vancouver. “The combination of people, resources, capabilities and clients is a perfect dovetail,” said Hagan Ainsworth, general manager and creative director of MacLaren McCann Vancouver. “The complementary resources and capabilities of the two agencies will provide an expanded expertise in several key integrated areas including interactive and promotions.” Derek Shorkey, founder and president of Pineapple, has joined MacLaren McCann Vancouver as managing director. He will also continue to oversee Pineapple’s accounts, which include the Pacific Newspaper Group, the Vancouver Recital Society, Electronic Arts, Sierra Wireless and Events Whistler. Shorkey has previously worked for the McCann Group in Moscow and London, as well as for Cossette in Vancouver, Ogilvy & Mather in Toronto and Coca-Cola.
