Diageo Canada breaks new Guinness Draught campaign

Toronto-based Diageo Canada has releases a new television campaign for the Guinness Draught brand. The 30-second commercial consists of various shots of the beer being poured, along with copy reading, “This is the only time you can stare at something this stunning, this beautiful, for this long, without getting slapped in the face.” The campaign, created by BBDO Canada with media buying handled by Starcom, broke on Sept. 12. Radio advertising will follow in support. “We’re very proud of our new, made-in-Canada Guinness Draught campaign,” said Bob Huitema, director of beer marketing at Diageo. “The theme is ‘liquid art.’ They celebrate the unique visual beauty of Guinness, and the fact that enjoying a pint of Guinness Draught is as much a treat for the eyes as it is for the taste buds.”
