WINE COUNCIL BRAGS ABOUT ONTARIO VINTAGES
By Adnews Staff
The Wine Council of Ontario launched a radio and promotional campaign in the Toronto area last week to increase awareness of the award-winning wines made in Ontario. The ads focus on the craftsmanship, talent and artistry of Ontario's winemasters, and the international success of their wines, which have taken 18 gold medals in world competitions. The ads also talk about the Ontario wine industry's beginnings in 1811. Listeners are given a chance to win getaway packages to the province's three wine regions, tickets to the Shaw and Stratford theatre festivals, winery tours, cookbooks, bike tours, dinners and brunches. Bensimon*Byrne did the creative while Harrison, Young, Pesonen & Newell bought media. Both agencies are in Toronto. Advance Planning & Communications of Toronto is doing PR. The Wine Council of Ontario comprises 31 Ontario wineries.
