Intuit Canada begins SnapTax campaign

Intuit Canada has begun a new advertising campaign aimed at young people for its SnapTax tax software. SnapTax is a web-based program for preparing and filing simple tax forms. The campaign, created by Tribal DDB Canada, attempts to depict tax filing in a humorous way. The campaign uses the tagline, "Paper is evil. Do your taxes online in minutes." The banner ad shows a stick figure being chased by an origami monster made from a tax form. The three print ads also feature the origami creature in menacing situations. One ad, called "Gas," shows the monster in a house with a lit match and a trail of gasoline. A full-motion subway billboard ad shows the creature being created out of the paper form. The creature then walks to the front of the screen and jumps up and down in a threatening manner. The campaign will run in limited markets until the end of the tax season.
