Roots, Gretzky to promote new clothing line

Hockey player Wayne Gretzky has formed a promotional agreement with clothing retailer Roots. Gretzky will be the spokesperson for a new clothing line that will launch next week called the Roots Wayne Gretzky Collection. The product line will include jackets, sweatshirts, T-shirts, toques and hats. Some proceeds from the sale of these items will go to the Wayne Gretzky Foundation, which provides the opportunity to play hockey to youth who might not otherwise have the experience. As part of the four-year agreement, Gretzky will appear in advertising and other marketing material for the company, plus take part in various Roots events and charitable activities.
