P&G CHANGES ACNE CREAM AGENCY

Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, Ohio has switched its North American and European Clearsil ad accounts from D'Arcy, Masius Benton & Bowles of New York to Tatham Euro RSCG of Chicago. In Canada, DMB&B's Toronto office had the business but now all creative and media buying will come from Tatham, P&G spokesperson Jacqui D'Eon told Adnews yesterday. P&G spent $1.2 million advertising Clearsil in 1994, according to A.C. Nielsen estimates. The change was made without a review as part of a relignment of the teen skin-care business. Tatham's European offices were already handling the Biactol skin-care brand, and Clearasil was the only beauty care product DMB&B had. The latter will continue to handle advertising for three categories: laundry and cleaning products, such as Bounce; health care products, such as Crest and Scope; and paper products, such as Charmin and Pampers.
