WHIRLPOOL WITH CAMPBELL-EWALD

U.S.-based Whirlpool Home Appliances has given its account to Campbell-Ewald of Warren, Michigan, but the move won't affect Canada, Inglis Limited's corporate communications manager Heather Clifford told Adnews this week. Inglis markets Inglis, Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Admiral brands. Most Canadian advertising is done in the U.S., then localized for Canada if needed. Localizing is done by Cossette Communication-Marketing's Toronto office which also creates some specifically Canadian advertising. Cossette also does media buying in Canada. Campbell-Ewald got the business in a competition with Grey Advertising and McCann-Erickson, both of New York, and Hal Riney & Partners of San Francisco. A new campaign is expected in the first quarter of 1996.
