ALBERTA SECURITIES COMMISSION PROMOTES INVESTOR EDUCATION

The Alberta Securities Commission is promoting investor education with a new public awareness campaign. The radio and print ads, aimed at people 25 to 34 years of age, direct consumers to a Web site at <http://www.albertasecurities.com> for information about investing. The Web site contains tutorials, videos, a dictionary of terms and other information. The advertising will initially run for six weeks in Calgary and Edmonton. A second flight will run in January and February. "Our goal with this campaign is to help people find neutral, credible information so they can make well-informed decisions about investing," said Stephen Sibold, chair of the commission.
