ADS TO BE SENT DIGITALLY

Toronto-based MIJO Corp. and Digiflex of Los Angeles have joined forces to build a Canadian digital network that sends ads to newspapers. The service will begin rolling out near the end of February, and will be national by the summer. To get on the network newspapers must be equipped with hardware and software from MIJO and Digiflex. Ad files will be calibrated to the specific pre-press requirements of each of the newspapers receiving them. The ads will be in forms that can be imaged or interfaced with the pagination systems used by the newspapers. The network will speed up production and permit shorter lead times and last minute changes. The ads can be color or black and white, and can be sent in both Canada and the U.S. MIJO is an 18-year-old private company that provides advertising, marketing and audio/visual services for North American feature film distributors, advertisers, advertising agencies and broadcast and cable companies. Digiflex is a subsidiary of Information International, a manufacturer of pre-press equipment.
