NEW INVOICING FOR NEWSPAPERS
By Adnews Staff
Newspapers will begin using affidavit invoices with the March 1996 billiongs, says the Advertising Industry Co-operative. The new system is more efficient from a paper flow and payment perspective, and is a step toward incorporating electronic data interchange. The affidavit invoice contains more information on one piece of paper than all the materials needed for the tearsheet invoice process, says the co-operative. Magazine pubishers have been using the system since December, 1994. It is similar to the system used by the broadcast industry. Organizations in the co-operative are: the Canadian Daily Newspaper Association, Canadian Community Newspapers Association, Association of Canadian Advertisers, Institute of Canadian Advertising, Association of Quebec Advertising Agencies, Magazines Canada and the Canadian Media Directors' Council.
