RICE CAKES MAKE TV DEBUT

The Quaker Oats Company of Canada is using TV for the first time to promote its rice cakes, beginning next week. The goal of the campaign is to create awareness and trial among new users, while reinforcing the product's positive attributes with current users. The English and French spots are testimonials from people in shopping malls and on street corners surprised by the taste and low-fat content of the rice cakes. The tag line is "You Gotta Taste 'Em." Artis Marketing & Communications of Toronto created the ads. Fleishman-Hillard Canada of Toronto is doing public relations.
