THRIFTY TEAMS UP WITH CNIB
By Adnews Staff
Last week Thrifty Car Rental of Mississauga, Ont. launched its annual promotion that raises money for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Called Neighbours Together, it is running to Dec. 31. Fifty cents from each car rental goes to the CNIB's Braille Literacy Foundation. The organization provides funding for projects and programs to promote braille literacy, and to make braille publications and instruction more accessible to blind and visually impaired people. PR and radio promotions for the program began last week. They are being handled by DBA Public Relations of Toronto. Road safety kits and phone cards are given away on the radio spots. Trade advertising created by Promanad Communications of Mississauga Ont. began earlier this month. The Neighbours Together program has been running for five years.
