BLOCKBUSTER REPORTED TO BE HOLDING REVIEW
By Adnews Staff
Blockbuster Entertainment of Fort Lauderdale has its $140-million(US) video stores account up for grabs, according to a report in Advertising Age. Agencies said to be in the review are incumbent D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and Young & Rubicam, both of New York, as well as the Chicago offices of Leo Burnett USA and Foote, Cone & Belding. DMB&B was hired in 1993, but since then key executives from both the marketer and the agency have left their posts. U.S. creative is used in Canada where DMB&B's Toronto office handles media and promotions. Blockbuster's account for music stores, which operate only in the U.S., was moved from DMB&B to FCB in July. Y&R took part in that review. Burnett, DMB&B and J. Walter Thompson of New York are on the company's international roster.
